2014 in Review (part 1)

Record of the year

"Random Access Yeezus"
Kanye West ft. Daft Punk & Nile Rodgers

The idea was, like Kanye, brilliant in its simplicity: re-record Kanye's groundbreaking "Yeezus"-album, overdubbed with Daft Punk's equally earth-shattering "Random Access Memories". The bold experiment resulted in a fascinating cacophony of atonal bleeps and unintelligable rapping, once and for all cementing West's place in the pantheon of music's greatest innovators.

The album went quadruple platinum overnight and gained further notoriety when its lead single "Get Bound 2" was used as the opening tune for hit HBO-series "Game of Breaking Homeland".

Sales have plummeted somewhat ever since celebrity blogger Perez Hilton revealed you could simply play the original albums at the same time in two different media players and save yourself the 650$ digital download (Kanye is suing, obviously), but the fact is that "Random Access Yeezus" remains the most important cultural artefact humanity has ever produced.
